I have examined the accompanying Ordinance intituled

an Ordinance to repeal the Military Service Ordinance,

and the General Military Service Ordinance, 1918,

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is

The principal object of the Ordinance was to abolish compulsory

service for local defence. It also repeals the Ordinance which in-

troduced compulsory enrolment for service outside the Colony.

It might be suggested that this Ordinance comes within the terms of paragraph 6 of Article XXVI of the Royal Instructions,

in

so far as it relates to the repeal of the Military Service Ordinance, 1917, although that Ordinance deals only with a local force.
